Sunday Service Ringing

9 - 9.30am  except the first Sunday of each month, when ringing is 9.30 - 10.00am.

Practice Night

Thursdays, from 7.30 - 9.00pm although it is best to phone Will Harrison first because quarter peals are often rung from about 8pm on an invitation basis.

St Saviour's Church is on the corner of Gerald Road and Bidston Road, Oxton.  It has a commanding position upon Oxton Ridge, overlooking  Birkenhead, the Mersey and Liverpool to the East; and Wirral and North Wales to the West.  A five-minute drive from Junction 3 of the M53 Motorway, there is ample parking in Gerald Road.  Adjacent to the church in Bidston Road is the Carnarvon Castle - a convenient watering hole where meals and snacks are available.

We regret that ringing is severely curtailed as a result of complaints in 1993,  made under the terms of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.  This means that the bells are not normally available for peals or to visiting bands except at prescribed ringing times.  Please see The Bells page for further details.
